Graphic design has been and continues to be at the heart of what Barber Jackson has to offer. With our heritage in design for print, we have never lost sight of the importance of great design, technical skill and attention to detail.
Appropriate tone of voice, typographical sensibility and knowing when less is more are all part of the graphic designers armoury and we are happy to say our designers have them in abundance. The proof positive to the right is a tiny sample of our portfolio of engaging and, most importantly, effective, design.
We embraced the digital age soon after our beginnings in the early nineties and we now have a studio bristling with stylish macs and the latest professional software, but these are merely tools. They are worthless without great ideas and the skills and expertise to realise them.
Anniversary commemoration book
Lepra have celebrated the Queens 90th birthday and acknowledged her patronage of the charity by compiling a history of the organisation and presenting her with the book that documents the highlights and developments in the work Lepra does in fighting disease, poverty and prejudice.
The 56 page document has been made available in both hard and soft cover options and contains stunning photography from the regions where Lepra carries out its work.
East Anglian Air Ambulance
We have been working with East Anglia Air Ambulance since 2013, producing their quarterly newsletter. A wholesale revision was undertaken in 2015 to improve the function of the publication and reduce the cost of distribution. Our suggestions for size, pagination, stock and format all hit the right note as did our design proposals.
Prefect Controls have a number of products that help landlords, particularly in student accommodation and hotels, to save money on their heating bills, but the majority of them are generic looking grey boxes screwed to a wall. We developed names and identities for the leading products and created fascia designs that gave the products an innovative, hi-tech look rather than utilitarian grey boxes.
The Midnight Walk is the biggest fundraising event on the calendar for St Elizabeth Hospice. Usually 1500 women congregate and walk to raise money for this great cause. We photographed volunteers that have completed the course and put them into a wizard of Oz inspired image to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the walk. This year has seen the numbers of participants break all previous records at key times in the promotion.

National Planning Assurance Document
This document is the transformation plan that demonstrates how emotional wellbeing and mental health services for children and young people in Southend, Essex and Thurrock will be delivered with improved access, equality, capacity and capability in the system. The graphic style and imagery needed to appeal to both health professional and service users without being, respectively, too corporate or patronising.
Pigs Gone Wild

St Elizabeth Hospice has teamed up with Wild in Art to stage Suffolk’s biggest ever mass-participation, public art event – Pigs Gone Wild. The interactive sculpture trail features more than 40 pigs across East Suffolk. We produced the logo along with all marketing collateral including resources packs and the web site.

Estate agents tend to present themselves in much the same way as each other. It was a breath of fresh air when we met Emmerson Dutton and he wanted to differentiate his offer by appealing to a particular type of person who would appreciate his unique approach to marketing or finding property for his clients.

Healthy Ambitions Suffolk is an exciting project to make Suffolk the healthiest county by 2028. We developed the HAS brand identity and then produced posters and advertisements stating facts to raise awareness that small changes in behavior could have dramatic effects of the well being of the counties residents.

Grange Farm is a 90 acre site that has been many things to many people for many years. In its most recent guise the site has been redeveloped by the Grange Farm Centre Trust and has an award winning pavilion which provides a hall for the community of Chigwell to use for meetings and functions, a home for the Essex Wildlife Trust and changing facilities for the football teams that play on the four football pitches which surround the building.
Our identity, wayfinding and signage helps visitors to make the most of their visit.

It was refreshing to work with Richard at All Seasons Fencing on an advertisement that was relevant, informative and amusing.

Andras Barabas was a student in Hungary in 1956 during the uprising. This account of his life before, during and following his escape from the turbulent time is a compelling read.
